Climate Ride - Change of Plans, Change of Venue

If you've been paying attention, you may have noticed I got kid of quiet about my plans for Climate Ride California, and now the dates have come and gone with not a peep. Well, now that I have a minute, it's time I give you an update on what's going on.

In late April, I started getting really concerned about getting me and my bike out to California for the ride, not to mention, being under my total fundraising goal of $3,000. I called to talk to the amazing Andrew, ride coordinator, to see what my options might be.

When I signed up for the ride last fall, there were three rides planned for 2015 - the (Northern) California ride, the NYC to DC ride I did in 2013, and the new Midwest Ride, ending in Chicago. While the midwest ride sounded exciting, I was PUMPED to see the Northern CA ride back on the agenda, since it was really the one that got me interested in Climate Ride to begin with. However, in the months after I signed up, new events were added including the Northeast Ride - Bar Harbor, Maine to Boston! I was a little bummed that wasn't an option for me when I signed up, but I put it on "the list" for a future ride.

Well, kids, the future is HERE! In talking with Andrew, I was able to move my registration over to the Northeast ride, scheduled for September 17-21. I am super stoked to embark on this epic adventure once again, and hopefully this year, being a little further north in September, we may be able to catch a glimpse of some amazing fall colors! Not to mention finishing in Boston and joining my BRF Liz for the ZOOMA Cape Cod girls' weekend to celebrate after I finish (and eat lots of Wahlburgers and drink lots of Sam Adams in recovery between Monday and Friday).

This is all in preparation for my first Half Ironman in October! Hopefully all the training for Climate Ride will get me ready for an amazing finish in Macon.

I hope to be better about blogging again this summer, keeping you up to date with my concurrent training for Climate Ride NE and the Half Ironman. It's going to be a fun adventure.

And if you wouldn't mind, I'm still climbing up the thermometer to raise my $3,000 goal for Climate Ride - supporting Interfaith Power & Light. Every bit helps!
